FulfillNet understands that many terms commonly used in describing fulfillment and direct mail are uncommon and may not be found in your everyday dictionary. We created this glossary in the hope we could clear up any questions you may have had while reading our website or e-newsletter. Analytics
The tracking and examining of relevant data to effectively understand trends and patterns in order to make better business decisions.
B
Business To Business
Business-to-business or B2B describes transactions between businesses, such as wholesaler to a retailer.
Business To Customer
Business-to-customer or B2C describes the transactions between businesses and their final target the customer.

Cass Certification
CASS (Coding Accuracy Support System) enables the United States Postal Service to evaluate the accuracy of software that cleans and matches addresses. CASS Certification is offered to all mailers, service bureaus, and software vendors that would like the USPS to evaluate the quality of their address-matching software and improve the accuracy of their ZIP+4, carrier route, and five-digit coding accuracy.

Direct Mail
Marketing communications delivered directly to a prospective purchaser via the U.S. Postal Service or a private delivery company. Direct mailers can receive special rates that depend on the item weight, size, total number of like pieces being mailed, and on how the mail is sorted.

E-Newsletter
An e-newsletter is a newsletter send out electronically normally via email to subscribers on regular basis.

Pick & Pack
This is a part of the order fulfillment process which includes physically locating products in warehouses and packing them according to the customer’s specifics preparing for shipment.

Order Distribution/Warehousing
Distribution means product movement; receive, inventory, pick/pack and ship. Warehousing means a commercial building for storage of goods.

Shrink Wrapping
One of the most common packaging methods used, shrink wrapping is a process in which a package is wrapped in thermoplastic film and then heated so the plastic film tightly fits around the package.
